New Years Yoga, Mindfulness and Journaling Challenge

Many of us know that our mental health correlates to the way we feel in our bodies. Often times, we can view movement, journaling and mindfulness as things we “ should do” but can feel burdensome!


This short blog is a quick list of ways to make these things actionable and something we “ get to do” and actually dare I say, look forward to?!


Tools for this 30 day challenge-

-A notepad or pretty journal that is reserved for this 30 day intentional space


-Create an intention of how much time you can dedicate to this 30 daily practice- it can be as little as 15 min and no more than 45 in order to keep attainable within a busy schedule.

( please not if you miss a day, don’t get discouraged, Remeber this is supposed to be an exercise of self care and compassion! Tomorrow is a new day- nothing is lost!


For your space of practice

Keep in mind- do you like or have an at home practice! Have you been meaning to start an in home practice OR do you prefer a group setting where can go to a studio or local community space?


-Writing prompts to use each day

How do I feel emotionally, physically, before my practice?

How did I feel during practice?

How do I feel after?

Has anything changed and if so….what has changed?


Mindfulness-

-What am I grateful for today?

-What negative belief am I holding on to that is holding me back?


-Now, where can I step out and create a positive counter belief- write it down, even if don’t believe it yet!


-Just simply notice how your body feels when you think of this negative belief

-Examples-My shoulders get tight, chest become constricted or head starts to hurt


-Lastly, simply notice and return to the positive belief,

Focus on your breath AND

Praise yourself for your bravery to sit in this moment and taking space for yourself.


As you engage in this 30 day challenge notice the changes you begin to feel. This is where the journal prompts and daily entry helps track your experience.


In life, it’s those small and intentional moments that create a life we love and feel more completely who we are created to be.
