Paradox of Perfection-A Poem

In my mind you are perfect

A balance of complexity and ease

A reflection of my contradictions and a companion for catharsis

Emotionally connected and self-aware

Regulated AND passionate

Energetic and calm

Beauty and grit

Adventurous and stable

A picture of all things I strive for and desire

The perfect mix of yin and yang

Sunshine and rain

Sweet and spicy

You meet me in the places of my Concrete expectations

A room filled with Black and white curtains

Rusty and outdated control levers

You pull back the curtains revealing shades of grey and light

I loosen the grips of my perception

And question

All that once was perfection

Staring at the broken levers that once kept me

Controlled

Safe

And

Scream loudly

Messily

I am Liberated

Free from all that was once perceived as needed

The myth that perfection ever existed

And

Savor all that is beautifully imperfect and Mine
